Starring soccer celebrity Robinho, the worldwide Nike campaign “Write the Future” – directed by renowed British director Malcolm Venville from Anonymous Content – presented challenges such as building a Carnival Float entirely dedicated to the soccer star, the samba dancing and goal cheering on the other were easy tasks! It is worth mentioning the stadium featured in the film is that of Santos Football Club, where Robinho started his carreer, as well as Brazilian soccer icon Pele.
The World Chant campaign not only depicted a Brazilian beach, it also portrayed the country side of China and a US coastline road, demonstrating the great diversity Brazil has to offer when it comes to producing location and casting. The 3 casting units had to be able to sing in English, Mandarim and Brazilian Portuguese. The art designs had to represent the 2 foreign countries with authenticity. The result is a round the world trip in a couple of shooting days.
Ocean Films together with U.K Production Co. Stink and Advertising Agency Euro RSCG – London recently produced the shooting of the project Let’s Colour by Dulux-Coral, a worldwide initiative to transform grey spaces with colourful paint. The shooting took place near the grand colonial arches of Lapa – Rio de Janeiro and at the famous tiled Lapa Stairs, where the local community got involved and helped transforming their environment into a more colourful and vibrant one. From a technical point of view this film was very challenging, a motion control camera system was used alongside with a 60m track down the Lapa Stairs to achieve the wanted results.
The adventures of lauching the new Peugeot Hoggar included not only shooting in an acquarium but also travelling two states of Brazil in order to shoot at the perfect location. Technical challenges involved 3 different shooting formats (35mm, Time Slice and Phantom) as well as the great deal of logistics management. Local expertise brought by Ocean films together with Stylewar direction from Stink Production Co. UK and Brazilian Agency Loducca.MPM made the job a lot easier.
Oceanfilms produced part of the largest new campaign project for the brand since last 20 years, ‘The Keeper’, takes the viewer on the journey from plant to jar with the spark as a metaphor for all the best things about coffee.
